{"id":10864,"date":"2026-02-15T19:02:51","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:02:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T19:02:51","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:02:51","slug":"ma-po-tofu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/vegetarian\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/ma-po-tofu\/","title":{"rendered":"Ma Po Tofu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1\/2 C. vegetable broth<br \/>\n1\/3 C. hoisin sauce<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. rice wine\/dry sherry<br \/>\n1\/3 C. ketchup<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. hot sauce<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. sesame oil<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. vegetable oil<br \/>\n3 each garlic cloves, minced<br \/>\n1 pound firm tofu, cut to 1\/2 cubes<br \/>\n2 C. mung bean sprouts<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. cornstarch mixed with 2 Tbsp. water<br \/>\n2 each green onions, slivered<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>In a small bowl, combine broth, hoisin sauce, rice wine or sherry, ketchup and hot sauce.  Set aside. Place a wok over high heat, when hot, add vegetable oil. Add garlic and stir  for 5 seconds. Add tofu and stir fry for 2 minutes. Stir in reserved sauce and cook 1  minute. Add bean sprouts and cook another minute. Add dissolved cornstarch and stir  till sauce thickens. Serve over noodles tossed in sesame oil or over steamed rice. .
