{"id":10520,"date":"2026-02-15T19:02:48","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T19:02:48","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:02:48","slug":"corn-with-barbecue-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/vegetarian\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/corn-with-barbecue-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Corn With Barbecue Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 ounces onion, chopped<br \/>\n1 each garlic clove, minced<br \/>\n8 ounce tomatoes, skinned and chopped<br \/>\n4 ounce green bell pepper, diced<br \/>\n1 ounce green chilies, diced<br \/>\n1\/2 ounces ginger, grated<br \/>\n1 ounce vegetable oil<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. tomato paste<br \/>\n2 tsp. malt vinegar<br \/>\n1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce<br \/>\n1\/4 pint vegetable stock<br \/>\n1 tsp. muscovado sugar<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n4 medium corn on the cob<br \/>\n2 Tbsp. dry sherry<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Heat oil. Add the onion and garlic and fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the tomato, bell  pepper, chili, ginger, tomato paste, malt vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, stock, sugar and  salt. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, removing the lid for the last 10  minutes of cooking. Cool slightly and then puree by forcing thorough a sieve.  Slice stalks from the corn cobs. Remove the leaves and the silk threads. Place in a pan  of boiling, salted water and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes, or until tender. Drain.  Meanwhile, return the sauce to the pan, bring back to a boil, add sherry and simmer for a  couple of minutes.
