{"id":10327,"date":"2026-02-15T19:02:37","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:02:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T19:02:37","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:02:37","slug":"cabbage-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/vegetarian\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/cabbage-pie\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabbage Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Filling<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. plus 1 1\/2 tsp. vegetable oil<br \/>\n1 medium onion finely chopped<br \/>\n4 C. cabbage finely chopped<br \/>\n1 tsp. caraway seed<br \/>\n1 tsp. dried dill weed<br \/>\n8 ounce medium firm tofu<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. salt, plus more to taste<br \/>\n2 Tbsp. lemon juice<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. tahini<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. paprika<br \/>\n1 tsp. poppy seeds<br \/>\nDough<br \/>\n1\/2 can soy milk<br \/>\n1 1\/2 tsp. lemon juice or cider vinegar<br \/>\n1\/2 C. whole wheat bread flour<br \/>\n1\/2 C. whole wheat pastry flour<br \/>\n1\/2 C. rye flour<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. baking soda<br \/>\n1 tsp. baking powder<br \/>\n2 Tbsp. vegetable oil<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheet and dust with flour  Filling: Heat 1 1\/2 tsp. oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion until  translucent and almost tender, about 3 minutes. Stir in cabbage; continue to Saute until  tender, about 3 minutes. Grind together caraway and dill; add to skillet and cook  In a food processor, blend tofu, 1\/2 tsp. salt, lemon juice, 1 Tbls. oil, and  tahini until smooth. Fold into sauteed vegetables. Dough: Combine milk and lemon  juice or vinegar; set aside to curdle. Sift flours together to measure 1 1\/2 C.. Sift  measured flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder into a bowl. Make a well in center.  Whisk oil into curdled milk and pour into well in dry mixture. Stir gently, just until a soft  dough forms. Turn out onto floured surface and knead briefly. Roll into a 12 inch circle  about 1\/4 inch thick. Transfer to baking sheet and turn up edge to form a lip about 1\/2  high. Spread filling evenly. Sprinkle with paprika and poppy seeds.
