{"id":204,"date":"2026-02-22T23:29:20","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:29:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/vegetablean-chocolate-cake"},"modified":"2026-02-22T23:29:20","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:29:20","slug":"vegetablean-chocolate-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/vegetable\/blog\/2026\/02\/22\/vegetablean-chocolate-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Vegetablean Chocolate Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1\/2 C. vegetable oil<br \/>\n1 1\/2 to 2 C. thick stewed apples<br \/>\n1 C. sugar<br \/>\n2 C. flour<br \/>\n2 heaped Tbsp. cocoa or carob powder<br \/>\n2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda<br \/>\n1 tsp. allspice<br \/>\n1 tsp. cinnamon<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Mix apples with oil. Sift dry ingredients together; add to apple mixture. If mixture is too  thick plus dry, gradually add soy milk or water until soft dropping consistency (i.e., pick  up a dollop of batter on spoon and give it sharp flick with wrist. It should drop easily  back into bowl.) Bake batter in greased floured 8-inch pan or small loaf pan. Bakes in  about 20-25 minutes in flat pan, takes about 45-55 minutes in loaf pan. Ready when knife  comes out clean. Cool and store in the refrigerator. Best eaten next day.
