{"id":80,"date":"2026-02-22T19:30:24","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T19:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cabbage-and-dumpling-soup"},"modified":"2026-02-22T19:30:24","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T19:30:24","slug":"cabbage-and-dumpling-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/soup\/blog\/2026\/02\/22\/cabbage-and-dumpling-soup\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabbage And Dumpling Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1\/4 pound firm tofu<br \/>\n4 Tbsp. water<br \/>\n1 C. whole wheat flour<br \/>\n1\/8 tsp. black pepper<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/2 medium head cabbage<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. corn oil<br \/>\n8 C. boiling water<br \/>\n1 each bay leaf<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. soy sauce<br \/>\nchopped scallions<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Dumplings: blend tofu with water till smooth. Sift dry ingredients. Stir in tofu mixture.  Knead for 1 minute, form into 1\/2 balls and set aside.  Soup: mince core of cabbage and shred leaves finely. Heat oil in soup pot. Add cabbage  and saute over medium heat until golden. Add water and bay leaf. Return to a boil, add  dumplings, cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. The dumplings should be floating on  the top at this point. Remove bay leaf. Dilute soy sauce in a bit of the broth, add to the  soup. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
