{"id":9968,"date":"2026-02-15T19:00:49","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T19:00:49","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T19:00:49","slug":"sweet-potato-balls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/side\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/sweet-potato-balls\/","title":{"rendered":"Sweet Potato Balls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>4 C.  mashed sweet potatoes<br \/>\n(about 3 to 4 medium-sized potatoes)<br \/>\n1 egg, lightly beaten<br \/>\n1\/4 C.  brown sugar<br \/>\n2 bananas, peeled and cut into 1&#8243; pieces<br \/>\n1\/4 C.  bread crumbs<br \/>\n8 pineapple rings (canned or fresh)<br \/>\n8 maraschino cherries<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350\u00c2\u00b0.    Mix together the mashed sweet potato, beaten egg, and brown sugar. Place about 1\/2 C. of the mixture in the palm of your hand, and wrap it  around a piece of the banana, forming a ball. Roll the sweet potato  balls in the bread crumbs to coat evenly. Place the pineapple rings  on a lightly greased baking sheet, and place a sweet potato ball in the  center of each ring. Top with a maraschino cherry. Bake 20 minutes.
