{"id":9048,"date":"2026-02-15T18:58:58","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:58:58","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:58:58","slug":"beer-batter-for-shrimp-or-fish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/seafood\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/beer-batter-for-shrimp-or-fish\/","title":{"rendered":"Beer  Batter  For  Shrimp  Or  Fish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>4 or 5 lbs. peeled and deveined shrimp or fish fillets<br \/>\n2 C. flour<br \/>\n2 C. yellow cornmeal<br \/>\n2 eggs, beaten<br \/>\nSalt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste<br \/>\nApproximately 2 cans of beer<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Mix flour, cornmeal, eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in mixing bowl.  Add enough beer, mixing thoroughly, to get the consistency of a thick pancake mix.  Pour batter over shrimp or fish and let marinate for an hour or two and deep fry at 370 degrees.  Consistent hot grease will float the shrimp or fish in a very short time.
