{"id":89,"date":"2026-02-22T23:25:41","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:25:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/pasta-with-italian-sausage"},"modified":"2026-02-22T23:25:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:25:41","slug":"pasta-with-italian-sausage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/sausage\/blog\/2026\/02\/22\/pasta-with-italian-sausage\/","title":{"rendered":"Pasta With Italian Sausage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 pound italian sausage, casings removed<br \/>\n1 C. onion, chopped<br \/>\n1 C. green pepper, chopped<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic, minced<br \/>\n1\/4 C. fresh basil, chopped, or<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. dried basil<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. fennel seed, crushed<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. olive oil<br \/>\n1 C. tomato-based pasta sauce<br \/>\n1\/2<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Crumble sausage into a large skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until meat is  well browned. Drain and set aside. In same skillet, cook onion, pepper, garlic, basil and  fennel in 1 Tbls. olive oil over medium heat, stirring often to scrape up browned  bits from the bottom of pan. Cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add  sausage, pasta sauce, and wine. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.  While sauce is cooking, in a large pot of boiling water cook pasta until al dente. Drain  well. On a large warm serving platter, combine parsley and 1 Tbls. olive oil. Add  pasta and toss to mix. Pour sauce over pasta.
