{"id":295,"date":"2026-02-22T23:31:40","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:31:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/tomato-bread-salad"},"modified":"2026-02-22T23:31:40","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:31:40","slug":"tomato-bread-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/salad\/blog\/2026\/02\/22\/tomato-bread-salad\/","title":{"rendered":"Tomato Bread Salad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>3 large tomatoes, seeded, finely chopped<br \/>\n1 medium cucumber seeded, finely chopped<br \/>\n1\/2 large sweet onion, finely chopped<br \/>\n1 C. loosely packed fresh basil<br \/>\n1\/4 C. olive oil<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. cider vinegar<br \/>\n1 clove garlic, minced<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. pepper<br \/>\n1<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>In a large bowl, combine tomatoes, cucumber and onion. In a small bowl combine basil,  oil, vinegar, garlic, salt and pepper. Pour over tomatoes and toss. Refrigerate for at least 1  hour. Before serving, allow salad to come to room temperature. Cut bread into thick  slices. Toast under broiler until lightly browned. Top with salad.
