{"id":62,"date":"2026-02-22T22:10:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T22:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/bulgur-and-rice-pilaf-with-walnuts-and-dates"},"modified":"2026-02-22T22:10:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T22:10:38","slug":"bulgur-and-rice-pilaf-with-walnuts-and-dates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/rice\/blog\/2026\/02\/22\/bulgur-and-rice-pilaf-with-walnuts-and-dates\/","title":{"rendered":"Bulgur And Rice Pilaf With Walnuts And Dates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>4 Tbsp. oil<br \/>\n1\/4 C. scallions, thinly sliced<br \/>\n1 C. bulgur, washed<br \/>\n1 C. white basmati rice<br \/>\n2 C. vegetable broth<br \/>\nsalt<br \/>\n1\/2 C. broken walnuts<br \/>\n1 each garlic clove, minced<br \/>\n1\/4 C. dates, diced<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Heat 2 Tbls. oil in a large wide saucepan. Stir in the scallions and saute,  stirring, until tender, about 3 minutes. Add the bulgur or cracked wheat and rice. Saute,  stirring, until coated with butter, about 2 minutes.  2. Add the broth and 1 tsp. salt, and heat to boiling, stirring. Cover and cook over  medium low heat for 15 min, or until the liquid is absorbed. Let stand, uncovered and off  the heat, for 5 min before serving.  3. Meanwhile, melt the remaining 2 Tbls. butter in a small skillet. When the foam  subsides, stir in the walnuts, garlic, and salt to taste. Saute, stirring constantly, until the  walnuts are golden and fragrant.  4.
