{"id":7671,"date":"2026-02-15T18:54:53","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:54:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:54:53","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:54:53","slug":"oriental-pork-and-rice-casserole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/pork\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/oriental-pork-and-rice-casserole\/","title":{"rendered":"Oriental Pork And Rice Casserole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 pound. lean boneless pork, cubed<br \/>\n1\/2 C. all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. paprika<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. pepper<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. salad oil<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. grated fresh ginger<br \/>\n2 C. chopped celery<br \/>\n1 C. chopped onion<br \/>\n1 medium green pepper, chopped<br \/>\n1 C. rice<br \/>\n2 C. boiling water<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1 1\/2 C. chicken broth<br \/>\n1 1\/2 Tbsp. cornstarch<br \/>\n2 Tbsp. soy sauce<br \/>\ncashews or slivered almonds<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Toss pork pieces with mixture of flour, salt, paprika and pepper. Heat oil in pan. Brown  meat well. Add ginger, celery, onion and green pepper. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.  Meanwhile, cook the rice in boiling water with salt, according to package directions.  Transfer to a buttered 1 1\/2 quart casserole. Top rice with the meat and vegetables. Mix  broth and cornstarch together in pan. Cook and stir until thickened. Season with soy  sauce. Pour over the meat and vegetable layer. Sprinkle with nuts.
