{"id":7072,"date":"2026-02-15T18:53:15","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:53:15","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:53:15","slug":"garbage-can-dinner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/outdoor\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/garbage-can-dinner\/","title":{"rendered":"Garbage  Can  Dinner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>20 sweet corn in husk<br \/>\n20 potatoes<br \/>\n20 carrots<br \/>\n20 onions<br \/>\nCabbage, one wedge per person<br \/>\nSmoked sausage, 10 to 12 lbs.<br \/>\n2 cans beer<br \/>\n1 can water<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Purchase a new garbage can and wash out with a bleach and water mixture.  Pull husk down and remove the silk from the corn, then wrap husk around corn and stand on end in garbage can.  Scrub potatoes and carrots and put on top of the corn.  Next onions, cabbage and smoked sausage.  Pour 2 cans of beer and one can water over the top.  Secure garbage can lid.  Build a charcoal fire and place can on coals.  Do not remove lid.
