{"id":6733,"date":"2026-02-15T18:51:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:51:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:51:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:51:38","slug":"microwave-split-pea-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/microwave\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/microwave-split-pea-soup\/","title":{"rendered":"Microwave  Split  Pea  Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 or 2 slices ham, 1\/4 inch thick<br \/>\n1 lb. split peas, washed &amp; drained<br \/>\n1\/2 lb. salt pork<br \/>\n1\/4 C. celery, chopped<br \/>\n1 med. carrot, scrubbed &amp; sliced thin<br \/>\n1 sm. onion, chopped<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. pepper<br \/>\n6 to 8 C. hot water<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Combine all ingredients except ham in a deep casserole, at least 3 quart size.  Microwave on high for 45 minutes, stirring at least 2 or 3 times during cooking.  Add hot water if necessary, during cooking. Chop ham and stir into soup, cook 3 minutes longer.
