{"id":6732,"date":"2026-02-15T18:51:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:51:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:51:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:51:38","slug":"microwave-special-winter-oatmeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/microwave\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/microwave-special-winter-oatmeal\/","title":{"rendered":"Microwave  Special  Winter  Oatmeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>3\/4 C. old fashioned rolled oats<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1 1\/4 C. water<br \/>\n6 dates or 2 Tbsp. raisins, walnuts or pecans<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>In a 1 quart cooking bowl combine the rolled oats, salt and water.  If using raisins, stir them in at this time.  Cook on high power 4 to 5 minutes, stirring once.  Let stand 3 minutes.  Spoon into 2 cereal bowls.  On each serving, if omitting raisins, put 3 dates, cut in about 4 pieces each and a sprinkle of walnuts or coarsely cut pecans.  Add brown sugar to taste.  Serve with milk or half and half.  Serves two.  Cold Day Special:  After pouring the milk on the cereal, return the dishes to the oven and heat on 30 percent power, defrost or medium low, 3 to 4 minutes.<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
