{"id":137,"date":"2026-02-22T23:23:23","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:23:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/runzas-(german-origin)"},"modified":"2026-02-22T23:23:23","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:23:23","slug":"runzas-german-origin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/german\/blog\/2026\/02\/22\/runzas-german-origin\/","title":{"rendered":"Runzas (German Origin)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>3 lb. pkg. frozen white bread dough<br \/>\n11\/2 lb. ground beef<br \/>\n1 medium head cabbage, shredded<br \/>\n1 lb. shredded mozzarella cheese<br \/>\nsalt and pepper to taste<br \/>\noil for coating<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Thaw out frozen bread dough; cut each roll into 3 pieces and set aside. Brown beef and cabbage in a large skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Preheat oven to 350\u00ba. Roll out bread dough and cut into squares. Place a spoonful of the beef and cabbage mixture onto the center of each dough square. Sprinkle cheese on top, fold over and pinch sides to seal. Rub a bit of oil on the outside of each pastry. Place in a 9&#8243; x13&#8243; baking dish and bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until golden brown. *If you want to simplify the whole process put a layer of dough in the bottom of the pan, spread the filling over that, then top with the other half of the dough.
