{"id":4802,"date":"2026-02-15T18:47:01","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:47:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:47:01","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:47:01","slug":"double-chocolate-oatmeal-cookies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/diabetic\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/double-chocolate-oatmeal-cookies\/","title":{"rendered":"Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 C. sugar<br \/>\n1 C. margarine (2 sticks)<br \/>\n1 large egg<br \/>\n1\/4 C. water<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla<br \/>\n1-1\/4 C. all purpose flour<br \/>\n1\/2 C. whole wheat flour<br \/>\n1\/4 C. cocoa<br \/>\n2 C. rolled oats<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. baking soda<br \/>\n1\/2 C. semisweet chocolate chips<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cream sugar and margarine together at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg, water, and vanilla, and mix at medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping down the bowl before and after adding egg, water and vanilla. Stir flours, cocoa, oatmeal, baking soda and baking powder together to blend; add to egg mixture. Mix to medium speed to blend, and then add chocolate chips. Drop dough by 1-1\/2 Tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets that have been sprayed with pan spray, or lined with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 12 to 14 minutes, or until cookies are not quite firm. Do not over bake, or cookies will be too hard.
