{"id":3869,"date":"2026-02-15T18:44:44","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:44:44","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:44:44","slug":"red-beans-and-rice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/crockpot\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/red-beans-and-rice\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Beans And Rice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 ham bone cracked<br \/>\n1 pound small dried red beans soaked overnight,<br \/>\nand drained<br \/>\n1 onion chopped<br \/>\n3 garlic cloves minced<br \/>\nSalt to taste<br \/>\nFreshly ground black pepper to taste<br \/>\n6 C. hot cooked rice<br \/>\n1 C. chopped green onions<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Place beans in bottom of crock pot and add remaining ingredients, except rice and green onions, with 1 1\/2 quarts water. Cover and cook on high 2 hours. Turn heat to low and cook, covered, 10 to 12 hours. Remove ham bone and mash some of the beans against the side of the pot to thicken the remaining liquid. Remove meat from bone and return meat to pot.
