{"id":3839,"date":"2026-02-15T18:44:43","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:44:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:44:43","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:44:43","slug":"pot-roast-with-porcinni-mushrooms-and-dried-fruit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/crockpot\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/pot-roast-with-porcinni-mushrooms-and-dried-fruit\/","title":{"rendered":"Pot Roast With Porcinni Mushrooms And Dried Fruit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 1\/2 pounds lean pot roast, such as a top sirloin<br \/>\n1 envelope brown, onion, or mushroom gravy mix<br \/>\n1 package dried porcini mushrooms-2 oz.<br \/>\n1\/2 C. hot water<br \/>\n1\/2 C. red wine may substitute beef broth or unsweetened apple juice<br \/>\n1\/2 C. diced dried apples or other dried fruit<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. garlic powder to 1\/2 tsp. or 1 small fresh garlic clove, minced<br \/>\nSalt to taste<br \/>\nFreshly ground black pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Place the roast in the crock pot. Sprinkle with gravy mix, rub into the roast. Soak the mushrooms for 5 to 10 minutes in the hot water, stir in red wine then pour over roast. Add remaining ingredients, turn roast to coat with juices. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, turn once or twice if possible. Comments: This roast makes a very flavorful gravy.
