{"id":3007,"date":"2026-02-15T18:44:26","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:44:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:44:26","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:44:26","slug":"athenian-shrimp-in-tomato-and-feta-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/crockpot\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/athenian-shrimp-in-tomato-and-feta-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Athenian Shrimp In Tomato And Feta Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 Tbsp. olive oil<br \/>\n1 medium onion chop<br \/>\n1 garlic clove minced<br \/>\n1 can tomatoes in thick puree-28 oz.<br \/>\n6 oz. tomato paste<br \/>\n1\/4 C. dry wine or vermouth<br \/>\n2 Tbsp. chopped parsley<br \/>\n1 tsp. dried oregano<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper<br \/>\n1 1\/2 pounds medium shrimp peeled, de-veined<br \/>\n2 oz. feta cheese in 1\/4 inch cubes<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in a Saute pan and add the onion and garlic. Cook, stirring often, until the onion is softened, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a 3 1\/2 quart crock pot. Add the tomatoes with their puree, the tomato paste, wine, parsley, oregano and pepper. Cover and cook for 6 to 8 hours on low. Increase the heat to high and add the shrimp. Cook just until the shrimp are firm and have turned pink, about 15 minutes.
