Red Rice
Ingredients
4 slices bacon to 6 fried, crumbled
1 large onion coarsely chopped
2 cans chopped tomatoes-15 oz. each
1 C. converted rice
1/2 C. chopped cooked ham to 1 C.
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce or to taste
Cooking Instructions
Fry bacon, drain and crumble. Cook onion in bacon grease just until softened. Combine all ingredients in the crock pot. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or until rice is tender but not mushy.
