{"id":59792,"date":"2026-02-22T23:07:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/baked-steak-with-creole-sauce"},"modified":"2026-02-22T23:07:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T23:07:00","slug":"baked-steak-with-creole-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/creole\/blog\/2026\/02\/22\/baked-steak-with-creole-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Baked Steak With Creole Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 tsp. olive oil<br \/>\n1\/4 C. onions, chopped<br \/>\n1\/4 C. green bell pepper, chopped<br \/>\n1\/2 pound canned tomatoes<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. chili powder<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. celery seed<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. garlic powder<br \/>\n1 pound lean boneless round steaks<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the oil. Add the onions and green pepper and  saute until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and the seasonings.  Cover and let simmer over low heat 20 to 25 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Trim  all visible fat off the steak. In a nonstick pan, or a pan that has been sprayed with nonstick  cooking spray, lightly brown the steak on each side. Transfer the steak to a 13 by 9 inch  baking dish. Pour the sauce over the steak and cover. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1-1\/4  hours, or until steak is tender. Remove from oven. Slice steak and arrange on a serving  platter.
