Creole Style Green Beans
Ingredients
6 slices bacon, diced
3/4 C. chopped onion
1/2 C. chopped green pepper
2 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. dry mustard
16 oz. can peeled tomatoes
16 oz. can green beans, drained
Cooking Instructions
Cook bacon until crisp: remove from skillet. Add onion and pepper to 3 Tbsp. bacon drippings. Cook until tender. Blend in flour, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and mustard. Add tomatoes. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add beans. Heat. Top with the bacon. 6 to 8 servings.
