{"id":2922,"date":"2026-02-15T18:42:14","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:42:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:42:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:42:14","slug":"white-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cake\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/white-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"White Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 C. shortening<br \/>\n1 1\/2 C. sugar<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. almond extract<br \/>\n2 3\/4 C. cake flour; sifted<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. salt<br \/>\n4 tsp. baking powder<br \/>\n1 C. milk<br \/>\n4 egg whites<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350. Cream the shortening until light then gradually add 1 C. sugar and  cream till light and fluffy. Add vanilla and almond extracts. Sift dry ingredients and add  alternately with milk. Beat egg whites until frothy. Add 1\/2 C. sugar and beat until stiff  and shiny. Fold egg whites into batter. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9 inch cake  pans.
