{"id":2728,"date":"2026-02-15T18:42:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:42:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:42:11","slug":"spiced-pound-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cake\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/spiced-pound-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Spiced Pound Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 1\/2 C. butter or margarine softened (3 sticks)<br \/>\n4 C. sifted confectioners&#8217; sugar (about 1 pound)<br \/>\n6 eggs<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. almond extract<br \/>\n3 1\/2 C. all-purpose flour, sifted<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. mace or nutmeg<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n2\/3 C. milk<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan or 12-C. bundt pan. Cream  butter and sugar together in mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time,  beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla and almond extracts. Sift flour, mace, or  nutmeg and salt together; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and  ending with flour mixture. Mix well after each addition. Spoon batter into prepared pan.  Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted one inch from edge comes out  clean.
