{"id":2287,"date":"2026-02-15T18:41:56","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:41:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:56","slug":"magical-and-mystical-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cake\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/magical-and-mystical-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Magical And Mystical Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 3\/4 C. flour; unbleached, sifted<br \/>\n3\/4 C. cocoa; baking<br \/>\n1 tsp. baking powder<br \/>\n2 eggs; large<br \/>\n1 C. coffee; black, strong<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla extract<br \/>\n1\/4 C. butter or regular margarine<br \/>\n1 egg; large<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. vanilla<br \/>\n1 C. walnuts; chopped<br \/>\n2 C. sugar<br \/>\n2 tsp. baking soda<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/2 C. vegetable oil<br \/>\n1 C. buttermilk<br \/>\nHundred dollar frosting<br \/>\n3 ounces semisweet chocolate; 3 blocks<br \/>\n2 C. confectioners&#8217; sugar<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. lemon juice<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.  Add eggs, oil, coffee, buttermilk and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer set at medium  speed for 3 minutes. Pour batter into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake in  preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes or until the cake tests done. Cool in pan on  rack. Frost with Hundred Dollar Frosting. Cut into squares. Hundred dollar frosting:..  Combine butter and semisweet chocolate in a double boiler top. Place over hot water,  stirring until melted. Remove and cool well. Add egg and stir vigorously. Stir in  confectioners&#8217; sugar, vanilla and lemon juice. Beat until smooth.
