{"id":2201,"date":"2026-02-15T18:41:45","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:41:45","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:45","slug":"lard-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cake\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/lard-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Lard Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 eggs<br \/>\n1\/2 C. lard<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n3\/4 C. evaporated milk, mixed with 1\/3 C. water<br \/>\n1 1\/2 C. sugar<br \/>\n2 1\/2 C. flour, sifted<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. baking powder<br \/>\n1 1\/2 tsp. vanilla<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Separate eggs; beat whites until frothy. Beat in 1\/2 C. of the sugar; keep beating until  whites form stiff peaks. In another mixing bowl cream lard with remaining C. of sugar.  When softened add flour, salt, and baking powder. Beat for about a minute. Add egg  yolks, evaporated milk mixed with water, and vanilla and mix well. Carefully fold in egg  white mixture.
