{"id":2187,"date":"2026-02-15T18:41:45","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:41:45","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:45","slug":"key-largo-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cake\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/key-largo-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Key Largo Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cake<br \/>\n3 ounces mixed fruit gelatin<br \/>\n1 1\/3 C. sugar<br \/>\n2 C. flour<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1 tsp. baking powder<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. baking soda<br \/>\n5 eggs<br \/>\n1 1\/4 C. cooking oil<br \/>\n3\/4 C. key largo liqueur ( any tropical flavored liqueur )<br \/>\nGlaze<br \/>\n1\/2 C. powdered sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 C. key largo liqueur<br \/>\nTopping<br \/>\n12 ounces cool whip<br \/>\n1 can mixed tropical fruit, drain<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Remove 1 Tbls. of gelatin powder and set aside. Mix sugar, Jell-O powder, flour,  salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add oil, eggs, and liqueur. Beat 3-4 minutes.  Grease and flour a 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 &#8211; 30 minutes. Cool and poke  holes in cake. Mix powdered sugar and liqueur. Pour evenly over cake. Refrigerate.  Cover with Whipped topping.
