{"id":1869,"date":"2026-02-15T18:41:41","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:41:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:41","slug":"deep-dark-chocolate-fudge-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cake\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/deep-dark-chocolate-fudge-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Deep Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 C. sugar<br \/>\n1 3\/4 C. flour<br \/>\n3\/4 C. cocoa<br \/>\n1-1\/2 tsp. baking soda<br \/>\n1-1\/2 tsp. baking powder<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n1 C. milk<br \/>\n1\/2 C. vegetable oil<br \/>\n2 tsp. vanilla<br \/>\n1 C. boiling water<br \/>\nFudge Frosting:<br \/>\n1 C. cocoa<br \/>\n3\/4 C. butter, melted<br \/>\n1\/2 C. hot milk<br \/>\n2 tsp. vanilla<br \/>\n4 C. powdered sugar<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour three 8 or 9-inch cake rounds. Combine all  cake ingredients, except boiling water, and mix for 2-3 minutes until well blended. Stir in  boiling water; batter will be very thin. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake 30-35  minutes or until center tests done. Cool cake for 10 minutes; remove from pans. Cool  completely.  Frosting: Add cocoa to melted butter and hot milk in mixing bowl; stir well. Add vanilla  and powdered sugar. Beat on medium speed until smooth and thickened.
