{"id":1674,"date":"2026-02-15T18:41:30","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:41:30","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:30","slug":"chocolate-bourbon-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cake\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/chocolate-bourbon-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Chocolate Bourbon Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 C. butter<br \/>\n1 C. sugar<br \/>\n1 C. powdered sugar<br \/>\n1 dozen eggs, separated<br \/>\n4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla<br \/>\n1 C. chopped pecans<br \/>\n1 dozen double ladyfingers<br \/>\n4 dozen Italian macaroons, broken and soaked in 1\/2 C. bourbon<br \/>\n1-1\/2 C. heavy cream, whipped<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat egg yolks until light and blend into  butter mixture. Beat in chocolate and add vanilla and pecans. Beat egg whites until stiff  but not dry, fold into chocolate mixture. Line 10 inch springform pan around sides and  bottom with split ladyfingers. Alternate layers of soaked macaroons and chocolate  mixture over ladyfingers. Chill overnight. Remove sides of springform pan and cover top  with whipped cream.
