{"id":1388,"date":"2026-02-15T18:41:27","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:41:27","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:41:27","slug":"apple-pan-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/cake\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/apple-pan-cake\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Pan Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 can apple pie filling<br \/>\n2 C. flour<br \/>\n1 C. sugar<br \/>\n1-1\/2 tsp. soda<br \/>\n2 eggs, beaten<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla<br \/>\n2\/3 C. oil or melted shortening<br \/>\n3\/4 C. nutmeats, chopped<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\nTopping:<br \/>\n1 C. sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 C. sour cream<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. baking soda<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. vanilla<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Spread filling in 13 x 9 inch pan. Combine flour, sugar, soda and salt. Sprinkle over  filling. In bowl beat eggs, add vanilla, oil and nuts. Pour over ingredients in pan. Stir only  until blended and smooth. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. While hot, prick  with fork all over and add topping.  Topping: Boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cool slightly and pour over cake.
