Ingredients

Sift
4 C. sugar
1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 Tbsp. cocoa
6 C. sifted flour
4 1/2 tsp. soda
1-1/2 tsp. salt
Add
1-1/2 C. shortening
6 unbeaten eggs
48 ounces applesauce
Top with
4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1 C. chopped nuts

Cooking Instructions

Combine dry and wet ingredients. Beat. Pour batter into two greased 12-C. tube pans. Sprinkle with nut and sugar topping, or for a dessert cake, sprinkle with 6 ounces chocolate chips. Bake at 350 for 60 minutes or until done.
