{"id":424,"date":"2026-02-15T18:28:41","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:28:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:28:41","slug":"raised-doughnuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/breakfast\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/raised-doughnuts\/","title":{"rendered":"Raised  Doughnuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 C. boiling water<br \/>\n1\/4 C. shortening<br \/>\n1\/2 C. sugar<br \/>\n1 cake yeast<br \/>\n1\/4 C. lukewarm water<br \/>\n6 C. sifted flour<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1 C. evaporated milk<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n1 tsp. vanilla extract<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>1.  Pour boiling water over shortening and sugar; dissolve.  2.  Soften yeast in lukewarm water.  3.  Sift together dry ingredients.  4.  Mix milk, well beaten eggs, vanilla, yeast and 1\/2 cup flour in shortening mix.  Beat hard, beat in remaining flour.  Cover, set in warm place until double in bulk.  5.  Dump and knead several minutes.  Roll 1\/2 inch thick.  Cut, let rise until double in bulk.  6.  Fry at 375 degrees.
