{"id":736,"date":"2026-02-15T18:30:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipe4thecook.com\/east-african-samosa-bread\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:30:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T18:30:38","slug":"east-african-samosa-bread-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/breadmachine\/blog\/2026\/02\/15\/east-african-samosa-bread-2\/","title":{"rendered":"East African Samosa Bread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>6 ounces ground beef<br \/>\n2 garlic cloves; chopped<br \/>\n1 medium onion; chopped<br \/>\n2 tsp. active dry yeast<br \/>\n3 C. bread flour<br \/>\n1 1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. ground cumin<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. ground cardamom<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. grated nutmeg<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. ground cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. ground black pepper<br \/>\n1 C. water<br \/>\n1\/3 C. frozen green peas<br \/>\n1 pound loaf:<br \/>\n1\/4 pound ground beef<br \/>\n1 garlic clove; chopped<br \/>\n1 small onion; chopped<br \/>\n1 1\/2 tsp. active dry yeast<br \/>\n2 C. bread flour<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. ground cumin<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. ground cardamom<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. grated nutmeg<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. ground cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. ground black pepper<br \/>\n3\/4 C. water<br \/>\n1\/4 C. frozen green peas<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>In a large skillet, probably non-stick, cook the beef, stirring to break up lumps of meat, until no  longer pink, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is softened, 3 to 5  minutes longer. Let cool. Add the cooled beef mixture and all remaining ingredients except the  peas in the order suggested by your bread manual and process on the basic bread cycle according  to the manufacturer&#8217;s directions. At the beeper (or at the end of the first kneading in the  Panasonic or National), add the still-frozen peas.
