Cracked Wheat Bread
Ingredients
3/4 C. water
1/3 C. cracked wheat
3/4 C. milk
2 1/4 C. bread flour
3/4 C. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. butter; or margarine
1 1/2 Tbsp. honey
1 1/2 Tbsp. molasses
2 tsp. red star brand dry yeast;
Cooking Instructions
In a small saucepan, heat the water to boiling; add cracked wheat. Cook on medium-high heat for approximately 6 minutes until all the water is absorbed; stir occasionally with a wooden spoon; remove pan from heat; allow cracked wheat to cool to room temperature. Place all ingredients including cooled cracked wheat in bread pan and press start. After the baking cycle ends, remove bread from pan, place on cake rack and allow to cool for 1 hour before slicing. CRUST: Regular Adjust temperature sensor to medium.
