Bits Of Bacon Bread
Ingredients
2/3 C. water
1 2/3 C. white bread flour
1/3 C. wheat bread flour
4 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. butter
1/2 tsp. green pepper corns *
1/2 tsp. sweet basil, dried
pinch garlic powder
1/4 C. bacon, with fat
1 tsp. yeast, fast rise or machine or 2 tsp. yeast, active dry
Cooking Instructions
Green pepper corns should be dried and crushed. Cook bacon till almost crisp. Set bacon fat aside while you crumble cooked bacon, then remix bacon and fat before measuring. After loaf is partially cooled, brush with butter and sprinkle a little coarsely ground salt on top.
