{"id":50,"date":"2026-02-22T20:05:40","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T20:05:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/berghoff-ragout-ragout-a-la-berghof"},"modified":"2026-02-22T20:05:40","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T20:05:40","slug":"berghoff-ragout-ragout-a-la-berghof","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes4thecook.com\/beef\/blog\/2026\/02\/22\/berghoff-ragout-ragout-a-la-berghof\/","title":{"rendered":"Berghoff Ragout (Ragout A La Berghof)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Ingredients<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>3\/4 c  butter<br \/>\n3 1\/2 lb round steak,bonless *<br \/>\n1 c  onion,chopped<br \/>\n1 1\/2 c  green bell pepper,chopped<br \/>\n1 lb mushrooms,sliced<br \/>\n1\/2 c  unbleached flour<br \/>\n2 c  beef broth,canned\/homemade<br \/>\n1 c  white wine,dry<br \/>\n1 t  salt<br \/>\n1 t  worcestershire sauce<br \/>\n1    tabasco sauce,to taste<\/p>\n<p>*  Round steak should be cut into thin strips.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><b><font face=\"comic sans ms\" size=\"5\">Cooking Instructions<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Melt 1\/2 cup butter in a large frypan.  Brown meat over medium-high heat. Remove browned meat.  In remaining butter, saute onion for 2 minutes. Add green bell pepper and mushrooms.  Cook an additional 3 minutes. Melt 1\/4 cup butter and add flour.  Slowly add beef broth; cook until thickened. Stir in wine and seasonings.  Add meat and mushroom mixture. Cover and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour, until meat is tender.
