Deer Goulash
Ingredients
2 Tbsp. bacon grease
1/2 C. green pepper (minced)
1 stalk celery (chopped)
1 med. onion (chopped)
2 lbs. deer burger (with suet)
1 tsp. garlic powder
6 fresh tomatoes (peeled and chopped) (or 1 qt. canned)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 lb. elbow macaroni
Cooking Instructions
Heat bacon grease in Dutch oven. Cook green pepper, celery and onion over medium heat just until onion is soft. Add deer burger, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cook until burger is done and lots its color. Drain off grease. Stir in tomatoes. If canned tomatoes are used, cut up after adding to pan. Stirring frequently, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes. While goulash is simmering, prepare macaroni according to package directions. Drain macaroni, stir into goulash.
